Jason, you’d actually be amazed by the stories Matt and I have heard as close friends of former elders of Mars Hill. The blogosphere’s focus on the church discipline fiasco recently is such a mild symptom of what is going on behind closed doors there. I urge you to pray, as it seems God may be moving to bring these things to light. Meanwhile, you might be interested to read Frank Viola’s “Pagan Christianity,” as well as John Eldredge’s recent “Beautiful Outlaw,” as both have been tremendously helpful to us in removing the layers of spin on Jesus and Christian fellowship that have been put on them by church culture in search of an authentic expression of our faith. Thanks for speaking up and offering your response to this issue here.

I agree. I never hated them, accusing George of ruining my childhood, as some seem to enjoy doing. In fact, im looking forward to taking my sons to see eps I in 3D when it comes out. Maybe someday someone might even dare to put timothy zahns books into film that chronicle the years after ROJ.

Thanks for posting about this wonderful book we published last year. We’re so gratified to know what an impact it has had on you and pray it continues to touch hearts and lives. Daniel’s story is a powerful example of heroism, tragedy and God’s redeeming love.

It looks like the text in your second-to-last paragraph inadvertently got cut off. Maybe you can go back in and add what was lost? It seems like something of importance was about to be said.

Blessings to you in your work to fight trafficking. If every church would stand up and speak up about this issue, we could make a real difference.
