seriously?

http://www.godwitter.com/

why do we need this? This is the prime example of the Salt of the Earth not wanting to get out of the shaker.

Christians, why do we need this? Why do we need GodTube? Why do we constantly have to come up with some kind of “christian” alternative? Why don’t we invade the world with the Gospel of Jesus instead of just stare at each other dumbly?

  1. Seriously, when I first saw this post I thought it said “Go Dwitter”, and I wondered what a dwitter was. Instead, their site promotes “Wittering” which interestingly enough is only one letter away from withering, which is what the church does when it refuses to get out in the world!

  2. Wait, I got one more. Did you know that Godwitter is on Twitter? And I love one persons comment on their site, I’ll paraphrase: It’s for christians only, so it’s totally different than Twitter!

  3. The site is intended to be a means by which Christians can edify one another with thoughts or sermons that they come across, etc. When a person logs on to Godwitter you will not hear about folk moving the lawn or doing the dishes, you will be challenged or pointed to some source material.

As as additional point, several of the individuals like myself have functioned in several ministries that reach beyond the four walls including homeless, street preaching, prison and nursing home ministries. Many are ‘weekly’ ministries. Moreover, some individuals have been missionary in life threatening areas of the world and hold a vast repository of wisdom and insight.

So before you judge a matter- it is wise to search it out first. What is worse is that I found this note on the front page of a google search in the top 10 and wildly skews the reality of what is happening and accuses the participants of ‘staring at each other’.

May I ask what any of you are doing for Christ- beyond the four walls? Surely you have been faithful in some capacity if you sit in judgment?
